Two firm favourites on the autumn events calendar are Ryedale Book Festival and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway Annual Steam Gala – great for bookworms and steam train enthusiasts alike!
For 2017, Ryedale Book Festival has celebrated reading and all things book related throughout the year.
And the next exciting chapter takes place Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd September 2017.
With events taking place in a variety of locations, from the Milton Rooms to Jack Berry House, our drivers would be happy to take to one or all venues so you can relax and enjoy meeting some brilliant authors.
Friday’s book festival events include the young children’s play Oskar’s Amazing Adventure at The Milton Rooms, Malton; The Tudors at St Mary’s Priory, Old Malton and Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel also in the Milton Rooms.
The following day includes a packed schedule including Lola and Charlie author Lauren Child; Felix the Railway Cat; Horse-Racing Thrillers and Crime Fiction. There really is something for everyone!
And rattling over to Pickering, the Annual Steam Gala at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway revs up on Friday 29th, Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October 2017. The heritage railway will have up to nine different locomotives on the tracks, including a Black Five.
During the weekend, stations along the heritage line, which now finishes in Whitby, will be hosting exciting events, including the Autumn Steam Gala Beer Festival at Levisham and Goathland.
North Yorkshire Moors Railway is one of the most historic lines in the North of England, taking visitors on picturesque journeys along an 18-mile railway line aboard steam and heritage diesel trains.
